If you read the rules in the thread what happens based on the rolls is determined by the point difference.
Mine just happened to be much greater than yours, resulting in a knockout.

Don't worry about it Arthur. Experience is the best teacher in these kind of games. I was a little confused about the combat system my first time with it too. Hell I royally messed up my first scenario as well.
