Pod chuckled. "Aye, your brother.... a genius." He liked the man's sense of humor. "It's an honor to meet you... What brings you to my lovely marriage?"

This lovely wedding seemed so sparse. I thought I could help it out a little.

The new bride seems to be off tending to guests smiling at people who thank her. She goes off talking to the Lord Royce.

"Har! Indeed my friend..." he chuckled "Pardon my ignorance, Ser, would it be so indelicate if I asked you about your eye?" He found it ironic that one brother had no ear and the other one eye less.

Gerold's smile turned into a frown. "A mishap."
Changing the subject quickly, he delved into another subject. "I hear the mountain clans have gotten more aggressive. Do you plan to do anything about that? Smart man like you must be running circles around them."

Something in him had changed, he was not that excited for the crusade anymore. "We shall send some men into the hills to exterminate those who doesnt bend... I was going to lead em but the married life has changed me..." He smiled, suddenly he felt desire of listening to a certain music so he turned to the bard nearby. " You there... Yes you... Would you know how to play 'The Rains Of Castamere'?"

The bard didnt dignify that with an answer, instead just starting on the song.

"A sad song, for sad folk. Only a cat of a different coat. You would do well to heed those words, Podrick. My brother may be a fool, but he is still a Hightower. Just as you are still a Baelish."
He let the words sink in.

"Indeed... but it's such a deep song, I find... One of my favorites..." He grinned, that was no man to play with, he didn't seem to be a good fighter but he had brains. "Well, Ser, tell me about you, for what I see you seem to be a thinker or a reader like me..."

"I'm no ser, ser. And yes, I trained at the Citadel for some time, though I left after... a mistake. I wanted to get away from my family."
This one was smart. Hopefully he would stay in The Vale. Him going to King's Landing would likely throw his plots awry, and Gerold could not afford that.

Once again Pod found the situation ironic, the man in front of him had worked years to be a maester and the one with that title was him. "Hmm... I always dreamed in visiting the Citadel... What were your studies focused on? If I had a guess I would say... Hmmm... Let me see... Politics or Econony, perhaps?"

"History. I studied the past, hoping to improve the future. A failure. Westeros is a wheel. We will always keep making the same mistakes, turning to the same people."
Thoughts flashed through Gerold's mind. A shadow in the snow. A pale man with a chain, choking him, choking, choking. He knew he was right. Westeros would fail again, unless someone did something.

"Aye, a man must learn with the past to try to improve the future..." He looked for m his bride. " I must leave now, my bride seems to have disappeared." He stated giggling. "If you have business with me in the morrow, meet me in my office..."

Podrick seemed to be acting somewhat out of hand, Gerold looked at him. The giggling was certainly suspicious.
"Are you all right, Ser?"
Use Sense Motive.
