Eliana swore again and kicked her heels into the horse, surprising it into a quick and sudden gallop.

Just as the gate closed Eliana is thrown from her horse and sent flying out of the gate seconds before it closed.
If she wants to continue she will need to go on by foot.

Eliana needed no persuasion and ran for it, trying to get as far away as she could from her home.
