A well-appointed suite of apartments at the very top of the Maiden's Tower. They usually house the wife of Lord Arryn, but are vacant for now, and instead used for prestigious guests.

The porter opened the door her room, Aelinor was just happy to see a bed and also a bathing tub. "Can you please have someone prepare a bath for me", she asked the porter. "And please have the water very hot, if you please."

Lorraine sighed as she entered the rooms. A fire was crackling and their things were already present. The bathtub was the jewel in the crown. She turned and smiled broadly at the Princess. "This is wonderful, isn't it? I do hope they hurry with the water."

"Yes so do I", Aelinor sighed in relief,"There has never been a more better sight." She sat on the bed and then laid back. She closed her eyes and smiled.
Then she turned her head and looked at Lorraine,"What am I doing? This could not have happened at a most awkward time."

"You were not to know, Aelinor. We had heard of his illness, but how were we to know that he would die a day before our arrival?" She took off her cloak and hung it on a peg near the door. Gesturing for Aelinor to get up for a moment, she took her cloak as well.
A team of servants entered, each carrying a yoke laden with large buckets of hot water. Bowing to the Princess, they filled the bath. A third carried a box, inside of which were several scented soaps, imported from the free cities. They bowed, and exited again. The tub steamed in a most welcome manner.

Aelinor nodded as she handed Lorraine her cloak. "Thank you", Aelinor smiled at the servants as they left the room.
She then looked at Lorriane,"I understand that, but I am also speaking or Lord Stark as well. It seems as if the Gods are planning a joke."

Lorraine helped Aelinor with the buttons and laces on her clothes, stripping them off and setting them aside to be washed. She worked on her hair next, combing it a bit so the water would not simply mat and tangle it further. "And what of Lord Stark? I am surprised to see him here. And that he would greet me in that manner."

Aelinor smiled as Lorraine tended to her,"He does not want it to be an awkward situation between myself, Lord Aldric and himself... So he wants to let me have my time with him." She watches the steam from the hot water move in the air.
"They are friends after all, and I refuse to influence any confusion here, but there is one thing that puzzles me."

When Aelinor's hair was combed and she was naked, Lorraine gestured to the bath. "Yes, I suppose I think too much of myself. Being crowned the Queen of Love and Beauty has driven me to assume things that may not be true." She laughed. "He seems very interesting. I wonder if the young Lord Arryn is as interesting as Stark?" She helped Aelinor ease herself into the steaming water, and opened the box of soaps so the Princess could choose the scent she pleased. "What puzzles you, though?"

Aelinor lets the hot almost scalding water cover, she looks at the soaps picking the blue one,"You being given that title was a wonderful thing." She frowned,"You do not think too much of yourself, Lorraine you are a wonderful and beautiful woman." Aelinor settled back in the water,"Yes he is very interesting, and Lord Arryn maybe as well."
"But what puzzles me is that, their tradition here in the Eyrie is for the Arryns to only marry Andal blood to Andal blood. I am very sure the late Lord Jeremy wanted that for his children, not to have an ounce of Targaryen blood spoil the purity of their line." She let her fingers play in the water. The steam surrounding her as she stared out of the nearby window.
"So why even entertain my invitation to be a suitor?"

"You're too kind to me, Aelinor, to say that. I meant perhaps that I was looking above my station. I am merely a second son's widow, and the strength of his house matters not." She rubbed the soap between her hands as she spoke.
"Still,Targaryen blood would bring power and influence to the Arryn name. They spend their time in this impregnable stronghold, but perhaps the young Lord would like to extend his influence further. For a long time your family has married within itself...perhaps it is time to break with the tradition of both families, if you don't mind me speaking frankly." She began soaping her friend's hair, working the sweet-smelling lather down to the roots. The bluish bubbles soon turned grey with the dust of travel.

Letting her hair be washed,"You will have a station again, I do not plan for you to remain a Lady in Waiting forever..." Her eyes closed,"And yes my family line has keep our blood line pure, yes."
"Maybe that is why father sent me out, but I don't know. It feels wrong to go against the wishes of your father, but we will see what happens."Aelinor sighs, letting the hot water relax her taking away the cold feeling of the trip and returning her close enough to her Kings Landing temperature.

"Duck down a bit," she said, guiding Aelinor's head down so as to rinse the lather from her silvery hair. She guided her up again and handed the princess the soap to bathe the rest of her body.
"Your blood line is purer than any. Even if you were to marry an Andal or a Braavosi, you would be the purest of them all."

Smoothing the water from her hair and taking to soap to wash,"Yes that is true, and maybe again that is what my father wants for the Targaryen bloodline to blend with a certain family line."
Aelinor scrubbed her skin,"It is true that whichever family is united with mine will have power. My husband be the the brother to the new king if my father dies and but it is up to me to decide."

"And it was left to you because your father trusts your judgement." Lorraine got to her feet and began to carefully take the braids from her hair so she could brush it out. "He knows that you would never decide rashly."
