Character Personal History:
Trajan Waters was born in 342, the bastard son of King Daeron the Third and the young daughter of Lord Fenric Rykker of Duskendale. His mother died birthing him, leaving Lord Fenric to raise the child as his own, as King Daeron never acknowledged his illegitimate son. Lord Fenric was a stern and pious man, instilling in Trajan a devotion to the Seven as a means to overcome his inherent sinful nature as a bastard. Trajan grew into a fine man under Lord Fenric's watchful eye, excelling at swordplay so much that he was knighted at 15 and anointed in the eyes of the Seven. The following year he was named his grandfather's master at arms. He married a merchant's daughter and soon had two daughters of his own.
When the War of the Seven and Fire came, Trajan eagerly joined in the defense of his Gods. He proved to have a natural mind for warfare, leading a small company that harried the flanks and baggage trains of armies of R'llor during their march. His Targaryen blood stirred as he witnessed dragons bring destruction to the enemies of his faith.
When the war was ended, Trajan returned home only to find ash remaining where Duskendale had once stood. R'llor faithful in the city had rioted and burned it to the ground at the news that they would be forced to give up their god as part of the treaty. Trajan's grandfather Lord Fenric, wife, and two daughters had died in the blaze. He found his once iron faith shattered. What gods could allow such a fate to befall a pious man that had fought in their name? He cursed the Seven, R'llor and all the gods above and below in the realization that the religions had only brought death and suffering instead of salvation. Trajan fled to the Kingswood with the loyal men he had remaining, most of who had also lost family at Duskendale. They settled in an abandoned and desecrated monastery, taking up a life of banditry and plotting revenge against all the faiths. News of their mission brought veterans and criminals alike; Ironborn that felt abandoned by their Drowned God after being stranded, mercenaries that had fought in R'llors name, and anarchists that just wished to overthrow the established system. The Heretic Brotherhood was formed.
Character Physical Description:
Trajan stands tall and lean, a handsome man with the striking silver hair and violet eyes of those with Targaryen blood.
Character Reputation:
Trajan is known to be one of the finest blades in the Seven Kingdoms and a keen strategist. Whispers of a daring bandit known as The Heretic haunting the Kingswood abound on the lips of commoners and nobles alike. Far fewer know that he is the bastard son of the current king.
