The company has presented its new Sustainable Business Strategy 2022-2025, the guide that will mark Cabify's projects with specific objectives, such as positively impacting 750,000 citizens through social initiatives or generating more than 70,000 opportunities for people with greater difficulty can generate income .
Cabify, a pioneer company in the Latin American market as the first mobility app that arrived in the region 10 years ago, today reinforces its commitment to being an agent of change that seeks to transform mobility in Latin America. Cabify embarks on an innovative path towards sustainable mobility by presenting its new Sustainable Business Strategy for the period 2022-2025. This new strategy, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, is structured around 3 pillars (People, Planet, Prosperity) and 7 axes of action, which will group together more than 70 projects in its first year of execution.
This guide will allow Cabify to have concrete Chinese American Phone Number List goals until 2025, which will help the company follow a roadmap that involves all business areas to positively impact the communities where it operates. To achieve this, Cabify has committed to investing a minimum of 44 million dollars dedicated to R&D&i (Research + Development + innovation) until 2025. Technology is key to the positive impact that Cabify seeks to generate in mobility.
David Pérez, SVP of Stakeholder Relations, explains that “all areas of the company have participated in the creation of this strategy, in this way sustainability stops being something accessory and becomes an intrinsic component in each action or project we undertake. We look for synergies that positively impact our business, the environment and society.”
Everyone against climate change
The 'Planet' pillar within the company's strategy includes the firm commitment to combating climate change, one of the most notable milestones is the fleet decarbonization objective. In this sense, Cabify maintains the goal that 100% of the trips on its platform will be in decarbonized or electric fleets by 2030 in Latin America.
The main objective of the mobility app is to reduce the environmental impact of its activity and to achieve this, over the last year, it has developed technology that optimizes passenger movements and parcel shipments. This has allowed the CO2 emissions rate per kilometer traveled (g CO2/km) of passenger trips in Latin America to be reduced from 128 to 121 compared to 2020, figures below the international average. Likewise, Cabify seeks to contribute to the transition towards the use of less polluting vehicles. This last year, progress in fleet decarbonization in Latin America has seen all types of ECO vehicles – electric, gas and hybrid – increase and represent 11%.
As a final step at an environmental level, Cabify maintains the commitment assumed since 2018 to neutralize its carbon footprint. In addition to being the first and only carbon neutral mobility app, the company has decided to decentralize compensation to have a direct positive impact , not only in terms of environmental development, but also in socioeconomic terms and in the commitment to local green employment in the Cabify operating communities. During 2021, the company offset more than 60 thousand tons of CO2 in local station renovation , wind energy and biomass projects in each country in the region where it is active. In the case of Mexico, the compensation project is in the Oaxaca Wind Complex II-III-IV.
Prosperity: a business model that transforms realities
Technology plays an important role in the development of cities. Cabify not only seeks business profitability but along the way explores opportunities to be an agent of change in society. During the last two years, the company invested close to a million dollars in social projects that benefited more than 25 thousand families . From building housing for vulnerable populations to creating an exclusive service category for women. Some of the allies that have collaborated with Cabify in the last year have been: TECHO (Colombia and Peru), Fundación Cerros de Bogotá (Colombia), Aldeas Infantiles SOS Perú, Teletón (Chile), Mujeres al Volante (Argentina), Fundación Avon for women (Colombia), La Manuelita Foundation for older adults (Colombia), among others.
“From the first day of operation in each of the countries in the region we have ensured that we operate within the framework of the law, relying on local companies that have their tax domiciles in each country and paying the corresponding taxes.” , indicates Ignacio Gutierrez, Regional Manager of Cabify for Latin America.
Looking at the future strategy that the company proposes in this pillar, Cabify seeks to generate, with the growth of its activity, a positive impact on society and local communities to make cities a better place to live. With the development of projects to offer accessible services and, on the other hand, projects to reduce inequality, Cabify plans to impact 750,000 citizens in the next 4 years through initiatives in different local communities.
