This tavern sits along The Hook, the local name given to the road that connects the Red Keep to the River Gate. The establishment is mostly visited by the highborn visitors of King's Landing.

Cedric Tarly had sat down in a back table, as he had done most of the nights that he was in King's Landing. He liked the tavern, as it had more of a well-tempered nature, compared to some of the shit-holes that permeated the city. His father and sisters had already retreated to their respected rooms, so it was only Cedric at the table tonight.
Sipping from his goblet of ale, the knight watched as others passed through the building.

Arthur walked in, sword at belt, and looked around. Bunch of posh people, he decided, until he saw Cedric Tarly. He walked over and sat down. "Hello, Ser Cedric, congratulations on the championship."

Edric walked through the doors of the Gilded Goblet dressed in a comfortable, green and grey tunic depicting his house sigil of a lizard-lion.
He spotted Ser Cedric and Ser Arthur seated at a table in the back watching the crowd and wandered over.
"Ser Cedric, I'm glad to have found you before you left the city. Ser Arthur, always nice to see you as well. Come, allow me to buy us some tankards of mead."
Edric hails the tavern keeper.
"Two tankards of your sweetest mead for my friends and I here."

Cedric lifted his goblet to the Hightower. "Thank you, Ser. You did quite well in the melee if the rumors are true."
He then saw the Northman approach. "Speaking of the melee. Here is our champion. I would be honored if the two of you would join me, especially since Ser Edric is willing to buy the drinks."

Arthur tooked the flagon and drained it. "Don't let me get too drunk. I have a squire to see and a king to beat, or is it the other way around? Yeah, should have got first, though!" he laughed.

"The least I can do to honor such company. Now, Ser Cedric, I believe we have some light business to discuss if you recall."
Turning to Ser Arthur...
"Should have? Ser, if you'll recall, that wasn't the first beating I laid upon you this past week."

"Oh do we, Ser Edric? Please, remind me, these last few days have been a blur of pleasantries and small-talk."

"It was only mentioned in passing so I understand. I seek to purchase a horse with the purse I took in the melee. You Tarlys are well reknowned for your breeding abilities and I thought investing in your stable would allow us to form a bond at the least."

"You two are heading for Horn Hill? Do you mind if Aym and I accompany you? We're making to Oldtown and company would be good."

"Ah yes, I remember now. Well, we have many fine breeds in the stables. Might I suggest a hunter horse? Fast, nimble, and smart enough to chase down game in the most crowded of trees. Almost perfectly suited for the jungle of King's Landing, if I may say so."
He turned to the Hightower. "I can not stop you from sharing the Roseroad with me, Ser."

Arthur laughed, "Good, me and the boy will accmpany you. Will you two spar with him? I want him to know how to fight different styles."

Considering for a moment Edric responds to Ser Cedric:
"Yes, that will do nicely for a man of my... stature. How many gold dragons for the mount?"
Turning to Ser Arthur,
"I shall remain in the city Ser."
Reminding him of his other business with the Tarly knight...
"I would like to send a small company of my most trusted guards with you, Ser Cedric. You see, the Gold Cloaks are in desperate need of strong fighting men. It has been too long since the Commander has filled our ranks. I would like my men to scout the residents of Horn Hill and surrounding villages to find willing fighters to join our ranks. What say you?"

"Five golden dragons will pay for the horse and the transport to King's Landing. As for the proposal, I am afraid I can not accept. I am not the Lord of Horn Hill yet, and as such I cannot send away our men. Perhaps you can propose the idea to my father, though I doubt he will let you take our fine fighters so far away."
"Ser Hightower, I wouldn't mind sparring with the boy on occasion. Like you say, it is best to see different forms in action."

Arthur smiled, "Aym would like that. His face at the tourney when you one. It was magical. It this what it feels like to be a father? I hope not, I just met the kid."
