"No more than a fortnight. Plus, we'll be eating and sleeping at the finest inns and castles along the way. Nobody turns a Hightower."

That was some small consolation, then. "Will we see Highgarden? And the Arbor?" His mouth watered for sweet Arbor Gold at that moment. "We should have invited Ser Nestor and Jory along with us." It would have been nice to have some other companions along the way.

"Nestor wants his reward, and it isn't in Oldtown. We're riding to Cider Hall and sailing down the Mander. We'll stop at Highgarden and other such castles. If you're good I'll take you to the Arbor. You can taste their wine and meet Lord Redwyne's beautiful daughters. Twins, eh?" Hightower smiled.

"Twins!" breathed Aymery. "And Highgarden!" He seemed thrilled with the prospect now, almost forgetting those left behind already. But something else was nagging at the back of his mind. "Uh, Arthur? Would you buy me a harp?" He thought of his last one, and how his father had thrown it on the road and the whole party had ridden over it on the way to Kings Landing. It brought a tear to his eye.

"A harp? If you sing for my father's court, I'll buy you the best harp in Westeros, the Free Cities, and Asshai. But you need more practice with your sword. So sword first then harp." He flashed his smile.

Aymery sighed heavily. "Sword first," he echoed. "I guess. You'll probably be beating me...I mean, training me, every night from here to Oldtown." He wondered how bruised and battered he would be by the Arbor, and what a fright he would be before the ladies.

"When we reach Bitterbridge, I'm having the master-of-arms spar with me against you. Two on one." He thought of Aym's future bruises and chuckled.

"What an ass!" he muttered under his breath. Hightower was pushing him hard. Harder than any teacher he had had before. He sighed. One day he would knock the man on his ass. It would all be worth it in the end. He chuckled under his breath, imagining it.
