There was no point in being at Winterfell if Wilhelm Stark would not be there, thought Lorraine. The Wall was so far away that it had never seemed more than a fairytale itself. Something that was only rumored to exist, not something that was part of this flesh-and-blood reality. And the wildlings, and the other things beyond the wall... she gave a ragged sigh.
"Will you even have a moment to rest, my lord, before you ride off to their aid? Send ravens to your men, have them ready themselves and wait for you."

"I will need to muster my troops, it will take several days. So I will have about a week before I march out." He says to her.

"A week?" Not so much time, and he would be terribly busy, for certain. She realised how horribly selfish she was, and pinched herself inside her clothes. Selfishness, or having the Wall properly defended and Westeros safe...she shook her head. "Perhaps you should take the Princess up on her offer. I know the men the King would send are southern men, but every man you can get would count for something."

"I do believe there was a raven sent to Kings Landing already...What is beyond the wall is a fairytale to most, but not to me, I am the Warden of the North. If Westeros is threatened I must ride to its defense. I will send Eighteen thousand men separated into each of the three holds, meaning Six Thousand men to defend each of the Nights Watch Castles and Towers. I will be leading my men to Castle Black." He says softly.

She felt so naive and knowledge-less. "I guess the men will be coming then anyway? From Kings Landing?"
"There is no one better to lead them, my lord." She murmured, thinking of how he fought the mountain men.

"Lorraine...there are reports of creatures, unseen by man, giant humans...unknown beasts, I do not know if my men are ready to fight such creatures...I am still unsure if I am." He looks to her.

She saw uncertainty in his eyes. "I will pray for your success, my lord." She could not imagine giants or wights or even the wildlings... There was a hole in her imagination. But how could mere men prevail?

He bows his head in thanks he smiles lightly to Lorraine, he did not believe in the seven but just her thing of him was prayer enough for him. "My Princess, while you are welcome to stay and you will be well guarded in Winterfell, my brother will take good care of you." He says with an certain look.

Gerold waited for Stark to finish his business upstairs. The man was wise to keep the princess away from the North. He opened up his bag and began to read his research notes from the Citadel.
"Innkeep! Boiled water or your weakest ale, if you please."

Aelinor listened to Lord Stark gave explained his reason for leaving. "Again I understand Lord Stark." She sighed and then noticed the look he gave when he mentioned his brother.
She looked at Lorraine,"We will go to Winterfell, and we will remain until it is safe and you have returned." Her words were meant for Lord Stark to hear and for Lady Lorraine to understand that she was willing to wait with her Lady until he returned. "I will send a raven to my father to let him know of my whereabouts and our welfare. I can say that our trip is postponed for a while."
"Also Lord Stark, I thank you for your concern for us in your home. Please go and be safe on your journey." She held Lorraine's hand and smiled,"We will be fine."

Arms full of wood, metal, and feathers, Felric stumbled over the edge of the door. Catching himself quickly, he sat down at a table and began to fashion his arrows. The steel was made, the wood cut, and the feathers trimmed. Now it was time to put them together. The forge had been so hot, it had been easy to fall asleep. Smiling inside, he knew had to sleep eventually, and he had found a good place for it.

Lorraine didnt know what to think. Obviously it was his duty, but it would be strange to be in the keep of a Lord without the Lord. She nodded. "We will await your return at Winterfell."
Aelinor's hand in hers was a comfort. She squeezed it. "Please send us ravens from the wall. I know we both will look forward to hearing news from you."

Aelinor smiled at Lorraine. She held her hand remaining silent, she did want Lorraine to deal with this alone.

"I apologzie for the Interruption, so late at night. However I needed to know before we headed north." He bows his head and looks to Lorraine a good moment before walking up and placeing his hands on the sides of her head and kissing the top on it. Then gives a sharp nod to them both. "Have a pleasent night." He says before leaving and collecting his items.

Aelinor sits down on the edge of the bed, and sighs,"I swear the more we venture on with the rest of our journey, it seems like the Gods are trying to tell us to stay put." She looks at Lorraine with a smile. "He will be fine, he is Lord Wilhelm Stark, the Unburned Wolf..."
